Jammu,December 16,2025- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday unveiled the official logo of the ‘Jammu Marathon’, marking a significant step towards promoting fitness, sports culture, and community participation in the region.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Chief Minister said the Jammu Marathon is envisioned as more than just a sporting event, aiming to encourage a healthy lifestyle, foster unity, and showcase Jammu as a vibrant destination for sports tourism. He noted that such initiatives play a vital role in engaging youth positively and spreading awareness about physical and mental well-being.
The logo, reflecting the spirit of endurance, inclusivity, and the cultural identity of Jammu, will serve as the official symbol of the marathon. CM Omar Abdullah appreciated the efforts of the organisers and officials involved in conceptualising the event and urged citizens, especially young people, to actively participate.
He further said that the Jammu Marathon will provide a platform for professional athletes, amateur runners, and fitness enthusiasts from across Jammu and Kashmir and beyond to come together in the spirit of sportsmanship.
Officials present at the event briefed the Chief Minister about the planned route, safety arrangements, and organisational framework of the marathon. They said the event is expected to attract wide participation and help position Jammu as a hub for major sporting events in the future.
The Jammu Marathon is part of broader efforts by the administration to promote sports infrastructure, wellness initiatives, and community-driven events across the Union Territory.
