Reviving India’s Ancient Wisdom: Sanskrit & Sanatan in J&K | LG at Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Award 2025 For the last six years, the Kailakh Sansthan in Jammu has been honouring Sanskrit and Sanatan scholars in this festival – Shri Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Award – and this work is going on continuously. I feel that there cannot be a bigger surprise for Jammu and Kashmir than this, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha attending the 2025 award ceremony. In the program, Professor Shrinivasa Varakhedi , Vice Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, Delhi was honuored with the Kailakh Sanskrit Award for 2025. Under his visionary leadership, the Central Sanskrit University (CSU) is continuously striving to establish the glory of Sanskrit education, informed the Lieutenant Governor. And the teachers and students there are working with dedication to promote cultural heritage, Guru-Shishya tradition, justice system, Indian knowledge and deep aspects of intellectual traditions. Purohit Shastri Ji has continuously strived to bring the inner vision of ancient sages and saints to the people of Jammu and for cultural and intellectual regeneration. This day is also the 14th foundation day of Kailakh Astrology and Vedic Sansthan Trust. Devavrat, a student of Shri Vallabhram Shaligram Sangved Vidyalaya in Kashi (Varanasi), has proved that the youth generation is the true inheritor of the Sanatan tradition, customs, traditions and spiritual heritage of the country by reciting thousands of difficult mantras of Shukla Yajurveda for 50 days. And through this felicitation ceremony, I would like to tell all the youth of Sharda Peeth that youth like Devavrat should be your source of inspiration. Today, the new generation should choose youth like Devavrat as their role model who should be adept at the skills of the modern world and also be the protector of Sanatan culture, LG said. I always emphasize that we have to carry both science and spirituality together. On the occasion of the foundation day celebration of Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, I would like to request something from all of you. Let us all work together to build a conscious future, said the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Education is the basis of a balanced and complete life. If we look at the ancient Gurukul education system of India, then saints and scientists were not different but one and the same. We will find many examples like Aryabhata and Bhaskaracharya, who were equally engaged in the search of both science and truth. In the last few days, there has been a new awakening towards Sanskrit and Sanatan in Jammu and Kashmir also, LG shared. Recently, a national-level program took place, Vande Mataram completed 150 years. The event was organised by the government’s Culture Ministry. I don’t know how many people sitting in the forum know this, perhaps very few people would know that among the top ten districts at the national level, the first district is Kishtwar of Jammu. Second, Jammu and Kashmir received the first prize in the 150th anniversary celebration of Vande Mataram across India. And among the top ten districts, nine districts are in Jammu and Kashmir, this is the other side. And not only Jammu, Udhampur, Ramban, Kishtwar, these districts Baramulla, Pulwama, Kupwara, are also included in it, this is the changing Jammu and Kashmir, said the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
