CM Omar Abdullah calls for time-bound upgrade of revenue assets

Kashmir, November 25,2025-The Chief Minister today chaired a high-level review meeting to evaluate the progress of pending infrastructure projects in the Revenue Department. Senior officials, department heads and project implementation teams attended the meeting to discuss measures for accelerating ongoing works and ensuring timely delivery of public services.

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also shared his views on strengthening administrative infrastructure, emphasising that timely completion of revenue-related projects is crucial for improving governance and enhancing citizen services. He underlined the need for transparency, better coordination and sustained monitoring at every stage of execution.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed on completing the ongoing works in a phased and time-bound manner, ensuring that quality public infrastructure is made available to people without delay. He directed officers to resolve land, financial and administrative bottlenecks swiftly and improve inter-departmental coordination for faster execution.

The review covered district-wise progress, utilisation of funds and the status of key projects including tehsil office buildings, record rooms, service delivery centres and land management facilities. The Chief Minister directed the department to submit monthly progress reports and uphold strict standards of accountability.

Omar Abdullah reiterated that modernising the Revenue Department is essential for strengthening land governance, improving public service delivery, and bringing greater ease to citizens seeking routine revenue services.
