Kashmir, November 22,2025-Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat (IAS), distributed PMAY-Urban 2.0 sanction letters to 16 beneficiaries of Municipal Committee Chadoora and 14 beneficiaries of Municipal Committee Budgam, marking a significant step toward improving urban housing access in the district.
During the distribution ceremony, the DC directed Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to ensure the immediate grounding of sanctioned cases and to facilitate timely permissions for house construction under PMAY-U 2.0, enabling beneficiaries to begin work without delay.
He stressed the importance of efficient implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban, noting the scheme’s role in providing affordable, quality housing to economically weaker sections and supporting the government’s vision of inclusive urban development.
Officials from the respective municipal committees assured that all necessary assistance will be extended to beneficiaries to expedite the construction process.
The initiative is expected to accelerate progress toward providing dignified housing for eligible families across Budgam district, strengthening the overall urban infrastructure and improving living standards.
