Kashmir,November 18,2025-Jammu & Kashmir’s Republic Day tableau this year will shine a spotlight on the Union Territory’s rich handicraft traditions and vibrant folk dance heritage, offering a colourful glimpse into the region’s cultural identity. Designed to celebrate J&K’s artistic legacy, the tableau will feature master crafts such as Pashmina weaving, Kani shawl patterns, Paper Mache art, Walnut wood carving, Sozni embroidery, and other iconic handicrafts that have earned global admiration.
The cultural section of the tableau will highlight the diversity of J&K’s folk traditions, with performers showcasing Rouf, Dhumal, Bhand Pather, and other traditional dances that reflect the spirit and social fabric of the region. Officials involved in the project said the aim is to present Jammu & Kashmir as a land of creativity, resilience, and centuries-old craftsmanship.
This year’s design also represents the government’s commitment to promoting local artisans, strengthening cultural tourism, and giving national visibility to traditional art forms that continue to shape the region’s identity.
