Jammu, November 10,2025- The 69th National School Taekwondo Championship is underway at the Bhagwati Nagar Indoor Stadium in Jammu, marking a major milestone in the Union Territory’s sporting calendar. The championship, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, will continue from November 9 to 13.
The event has drawn 33 teams from various states and Union Territories, with nearly 500 young athletes showcasing their skills and sportsmanship in the martial art of Taekwondo.
Assistant Convener Atul Pangotra, a renowned Taekwondo professional and international referee, expressed pride in hosting this prestigious national event in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time. “This championship is a moment of inspiration for our young athletes. It provides them with the opportunity to experience a world-class sporting environment right here at home,” he said.
The championship aims to promote martial arts among school students and strengthen the sports ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, aligning with the government’s focus on youth engagement and sports development.
