Udhampur , October 16,2025 – In a unique initiative promoting sustainability and women empowerment women at Gokul Godhaam in Udhampur are crafting eco- friendly cow dung diyas for the upcoming Deepawali festival . The initiative aligns with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat , encouraging local artisans and self reliance .
The handcrafted diyas , made using natural cow dung , not only highlight eco- conscious practices but also provides a source of income and skill development for women in the region . Organisers emphasised that such initiatives strengthen community participation while preserving traditional crafts in a modern , sustainable context .
