Srinagar, Oct 1,2025: Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR), Aijaz Asad, on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) and finalised an action plan for construction of 5061 new houses under the special Awaas+ package for calamity-hit families.
During the review meeting, the Secretary directed officials to ensure swift beneficiary registration on the Awaas+ 2024 portal, expedite the clearance of Fund Transfer Orders , and ensure fast-tracked construction to achieve set targets within the stipulated timelines.
He stressed on close monitoring of works, transparency in beneficiary selection, and timely release of payments to facilitate smooth implementation of the flagship rural housing scheme.
The meeting also focused on strengthening coordination at district and block levels to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the deserving households, particularly those affected by natural calamities.
The Secretary reiterated the government’s commitment to providing safe, pucca housing for all eligible rural families and called upon the field functionaries to work with dedication to meet the housing targets.
