Srinagar, September 23,2025: In a historic initiative, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is set to launch an all-women bike rally from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh on September 23, officials said on Monday.
The rally, flagged off as part of the CRPF’s outreach and empowerment drive, will see women personnel of the force riding motorcycles across challenging terrains of the Srinagar–Leh highway, symbolising courage, discipline, and women empowerment.
According to officials, the bike rally aims to showcase the role of women in uniform while promoting the message of “Nari Shakti” and motivating the youth of J&K and Ladakh. The participants will traverse difficult mountain passes, including Zoji La and Fotu La, before concluding their journey in Leh.
The event is being organised with active support from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, with arrangements made for traffic facilitation, security cover, and public interaction programs along the route.
CRPF officials said the rally would also include awareness campaigns on women’s safety, education, and career opportunities in forces, particularly aimed at inspiring young girls from remote areas.
Locals and civil society members from Srinagar, Ganderbal, Kargil, and Leh are expected to witness the rally, making it a significant moment in the region’s ongoing narrative of empowerment and inclusion.
The CRPF has previously undertaken similar initiatives across the country, but this will be the first-ever all-women bike rally in J&K and Ladakh, highlighting the increasing participation of women in paramilitary forces.
