Srinagar, September 19, 2025 – On the occasion of Hindi Fortnight, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinhaaddressed a one-day National Seminar organized by the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagarand the Central Institute of Indian Languages. The event, focused on the theme of Unity in Indian Languages, emphasized youth empowerment, innovation, and nation-building to foster national unity and developed India.
Linguistic Diversity: Symbol of India’s Excellence
In his keynote address, LG Manoj Sinha stated, “India’s linguistic diversity is a symbol of our excellence.” He stressed that despite diverse cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies, we are all united at the level of identity and consciousness. India will achieve robust growth by promoting peace, stability, unity, and a shared sense of purpose, while strengthening a collective identity.Shri Sinha urged the youth to unite the nation through linguistic harmony for transforming India into a developed nation. He declared, “The 21st century is India’s century.
This is etched in stone. Continuous development and productivity will make India a major global power.” Linking initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, and Viksit Bharat to a common ideology, he described them as a broad movement for nation-building.
Hindi: A Bridge for Unity, Foundation of Integration
The LG Manoj Sinha portrayed Hindi as an essential bridge connecting people from diverse linguistic backgrounds. He noted that our society’s diversity, expressed through hundreds of languages and dialects, manifests our cultural heritage and national unity. It is our responsibility to understand, learn, and work towards the preservation and promotion of the inherent unity in all Indian languages.Recalling how a common ideology transcended linguistic differences during the freedom struggle to unite the nation, Shri Sinha inspired the younger generation. He said, “We must move forward with one vision, one purpose, and a shared commitment to nation-building.” He also called upon the youth to understand societal needs, empathize with them, and live for their fulfillment.Highlighting the emphasis by policymakers on inclusive development, he asserted that ensuring the benefits of growth reach every section of society is our collective duty. Encouraging the youth to learn languages beyond their mother tongue, he added that acquiring new languages broadens perspectives and fosters innovation.India’s Global Hopes Rest on the YouthShri Sinha remarked, “Today, the entire world looks to India with hope for future possibilities, and India looks to all of you youth for that.” He emphasized that the youth’s active responsibility in policy formulation and implementation—through their capabilities, innovation, and research—will determine how they guide the modern world.

The Lt Governor commended NIT Srinagar for establishing a Rajbhasha Cell and organizing numerous activities for the promotion and propagation of Hindi. On this occasion, he honored writers, scholars, and researchers who have made significant contributions to the promotion of various languages.
