DC Rajouri Reviews Sewa Parv-2025 Preparations

Rajouri, September 14, 2025 – In a proactive step towards fostering community service and sustainable development, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess preparations for the upcoming Sewa Parv-2025, a fortnight-long initiative scheduled from September 17 to October 2, 2025. The event, aligned with the Union Territory’s broader vision of selfless service, aims to drive tangible progress in key sectors through collaborative efforts.During the meeting held at the DC Office Complex, Sharma underscored the importance of a people-centric approach, directing all line departments, educational institutions, and colleges to prioritize cleanliness drives, education-focused initiatives, health and nutrition programs, women’s empowerment workshops, and extensive community outreach activities. “Sewa Parv is not just an event; it’s a movement to build lasting change in our society,” the DC stated, emphasizing that all activities must yield visible and lasting impact to inspire widespread participation.

The review highlighted a comprehensive action plan, with departments tasked to integrate flagship schemes into on-ground programs. For instance, the Health Department was instructed to organize free medical camps and awareness sessions on nutrition, while the Education Department will conduct literacy drives and skill-building workshops in remote areas. Special focus was laid on women’s empowerment through self-help group formations and vocational training, alongside environmental cleanliness campaigns to promote sustainable practices. Community outreach efforts will include engagement with vulnerable sections, such as the elderly and differently-abled, to ensure inclusive development.Sharma directed officials to coordinate with local bodies, NGOs, and youth groups for maximum outreach, ensuring that every block and tehsil witnesses at least one mega event. Colleges and schools were specifically urged to lead student-led initiatives, fostering a culture of service among the youth. “We must measure success not by numbers, but by the real transformation in lives,” he added, calling for detailed progress reports to monitor implementation. The Sewa Parv-2025 draws inspiration from national service ethos, mirroring similar preparations across Jammu and Kashmir districts like Kupwara and Pulwama, where DCs have outlined themed activities including cultural programs and capacity-building sessions.

In Rajouri, the event is expected to culminate in a grand closing ceremony on October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, with awards for outstanding contributions. This initiative aligns with the administration’s commitment to grassroots governance, building on recent reviews by DC Sharma on rural development and infrastructure projects in the district. Officials from the Additional Deputy Commissioners, Sectoral Officers, and representatives from the Information and Public Relations Department attended the meeting. For more details on participation, residents can contact the District Administration Rajouri helpline or visit local outreach camps starting September 17. The administration remains dedicated to making Sewa Parv-2025 a beacon of service, empowerment, and unity in Rajouri.
