Budgam students embark on Bharat Darshan Tour

Budgam, September 4, 2025 – In a vibrant ceremony held at the District Police Lines in Budgam, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam, Shri Nikhil Borkar (IPS), flagged off a group of 83 students for an enriching week-long Bharat Darshan Tour under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The initiative aims to provide young students from the district with an opportunity to explore India’s diverse cultural heritage, historical monuments, educational institutions, and industrial hubs, fostering national integration and unity in diversity.Accompanying the enthusiastic group of students are five dedicated caretakers, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) District Armed Reserve (DAR) Budgam, ensuring their safety and guidance throughout the journey. The tour, fully sponsored by the J&K Police, includes comprehensive logistics such as air travel, boarding and lodging, guided sightseeing, and air-conditioned transport, allowing the participants to focus on learning and discovery.The itinerary will take the students to the national capital, New Delhi, and the vibrant metropolis of Chennai.

In Delhi, they are scheduled to visit iconic historical monuments like the Red Fort, India Gate, and Qutub Minar, along with prominent educational institutions and government landmarks. In Chennai, the group will explore industrial units, cultural sites, and tourist attractions, gaining insights into India’s economic and technological advancements.Each student has been equipped with a special tour kit, comprising a tracksuit, shoes, cap, and carry bag, to make their experience comfortable and memorable. The event was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP) Budgam and other senior police officers, who extended their best wishes to the young explorers.SSP Budgam, Shri Nikhil Borkar, addressed the gathering, emphasising the significance of the Bharat Darshan Tour in broadening horizons and instilling a sense of pride in India’s rich tapestry.

“This tour is more than a journey; it’s an opportunity to witness the unity that binds our diverse nation. I urge the students to absorb every moment and return with stories that inspire their peers,” he said.The Civic Action Programme (CAP) continues to play a pivotal role in community outreach, promoting education, cultural exchange, and youth empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir. Similar tours have been organised across various districts, highlighting the police’s commitment to holistic development.
