Srinagar, August 15, 2025: On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hoisted the National Flag at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar, symbolizing the spirit of unity and patriotism. LG Sinha conveyed his heartfelt greetings and good wishes to all citizens, emphasizing the pride in saluting the tricolor as it soared high in the sky.LG Sinha paid solemn tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices secured India’s independence. He also honored the civilian martyrs killed in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 by Pakistan-backed terrorists. Expressing gratitude, he commended the armed forces, Jammu Kashmir Police, and personnel involved in Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev for their bravery in avenging the attack, reinforcing the commitment to eliminate terrorism.
Addressing the recent cloudburst in Chashoti, Kishtwar, LG Sinha expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families, noting that relief operations are underway on a war footing to support those affected by the natural calamity.
He called for a collective resolve to eradicate every terrorist from the sacred soil of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the efforts of the armed forces, CAPF, and J&K Police, alongside the patriotic fervor of society, to make the region terror-free. LG Sinha emphasized the vision of a strong, self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir, with a focus on achieving equality and prosperity for all. He urged dedication to improving the lives of farmers, youth, and women, and fostering a prosperous rural economy to drive societal transformation.
On this Independence Day, LG Manoj Sinha called for a pledge to ensure no individual or village is left behind in the historic journey of peace and progress.
