Kupwara, August 9, 2025 – In a vibrant display of patriotism, the Mega Tiranga Rally was organized at Teetwal, near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, Jammu & Kashmir, as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. The rally, featuring a 1.5-kilometer-long National Flag, was led by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikanth Balasaheb Suse and Superintendent of Police Gh Jeelani Wani, alongside hundreds of enthusiastic school students, officials, and local residents.
The event, held just 1.5 km from the LoC, showcased the spirit of unity and national pride through patriotic songs, cultural performances, and a massive procession carrying the tricolor. Organized by the District Administration Kupwara, the rally aimed to promote the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, encouraging citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes to mark India’s 78th year of independence.
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a nationwide initiative, celebrates India’s glorious history, culture, and achievements while fostering a deeper connection with the tricolor.Students from local schools played a pivotal role, chanting patriotic slogans and performing cultural shows that resonated with the border community’s unwavering spirit. The rally’s route, stretching from Teetwal’s main area, symbolized resilience and solidarity in one of India’s most sensitive regions. Deputy Commissioner Suse emphasized the event’s significance, stating, “This Mega Tiranga Rally reflects our collective commitment to national unity and pride, bringing the border community together in celebration.”
