Srinagar, August 4, 2025 – Startup Kashmir organized its weekly mentorship session on Saturday at Meydani Café in Srinagar, fostering a vibrant platform for young entrepreneurs, students, and early-stage startups across Jammu and Kashmir. Themed “Let’s Talk Entrepreneurship and Startups,” the session created an open, collaborative environment for participants to exchange innovative ideas, address challenges, and receive guidance from seasoned mentors.
The event drew a diverse group of aspiring business innovators, who discussed critical issues such as funding challenges, product development, and market entry. Mentors, including professionals with expertise in business development, investment, and digital innovation, provided actionable insights tailored to the unique needs of the region’s startup ecosystem. Shahid Ansari, founder of Startup Kashmir, emphasized the importance of mentorship in a region with limited access to venture capital and robust support systems. “Mentorship bridges the gap, empowering our youth to transform ideas into impactful ventures,” he said.
Khair Ull Nissa Shah, a core team member, highlighted the emotional and technical support offered through these sessions. “Starting a business can feel isolating, especially in Kashmir. We’re building a community where young innovators know they’re not alone, equipping them with both skills and resilience,” she noted. The session also featured discussions on product validation, digital branding, and crafting effective funding pitches, with plans for future thematic workshops to further support startup growth.
Participants expressed enthusiasm for the initiative. “Access to such mentorship is rare in Kashmir. The feedback on our pitch was honest and invaluable,” said a student attendee. The session underscored Startup Kashmir’s mission to build a robust startup ecosystem that reflects local identity while connecting with global opportunities. By fostering networking, mentorship, and access to funding opportunities, the organization aims to catalyze entrepreneurial success and drive economic growth in the region
