SRINAGAR, JULY 27: Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, addressed the alumni meet of the University of Kashmir, calling on its distinguished former students to play a proactive role in shaping the future of the Union Territory through their expertise, influence, and commitment.
In an inspiring address, LG Manoj Sinha emphasized the importance of leveraging the vast alumni network to strengthen higher educational institutions and contribute meaningfully to the peace, prosperity, and development of Jammu & Kashmir.
“The alumni of University of Kashmir, spread across the globe in diverse fields, are an asset to the region. I urge them to come forward and become active partners in the transformation journey of J&K,” he said.
Highlighting the role of education in societal progress, the Lieutenant Governor encouraged alumni to mentor youth, create academic-industry linkages, and support research and innovation initiatives.
“The power of your knowledge, networks, and experience can accelerate positive change in education, governance, and social development,” he added.
The alumni meet served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of former students and to renew their connection with the university. Many expressed their willingness to contribute to skill development, policy planning, and entrepreneurship promotion in the region.
The University of Kashmir, one of the oldest and most respected institutions in the Valley, continues to produce leaders across disciplines.
