Srinagar, May 22, 2025 – As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a nationwide campaign by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to combat substance abuse and promote a drug-free society, the Srinagar Police organized a free medical camp under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2024-25 at Panchayat Ghar, Fakir Gojri, Harwan. This initiative underscores the police’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and fostering a healthy community.
The camp, inaugurated by SP East Srinagar, was attended by SDPO Nehru Park, SHO Harwan, and other officials. Around 100 residents benefited from free medical consultations and medicines provided by doctors from Police Hospital Srinagar and Sub-District Hospital, Hazratbal, supported by paramedical staff from MI Room DPL Srinagar. Patients received thorough medical assessments and high-quality medicines tailored to their needs.
In addition to healthcare services, the event featured awareness sessions on hygiene, preventive healthcare, and the dangers of substance abuse. The youth were particularly encouraged to embrace drug-free lives, aligning with the goals of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to build a healthier and more productive society.
The local community lauded the initiative, highlighting its role in strengthening police-public relations and addressing critical issues like substance abuse. This medical camp reflects Srinagar Police’s ongoing efforts to enhance community welfare and promote a drug-free India.
