Omar Abdullah Praises Budget as Inclusive

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has hailed the region’s latest budget as a “love letter” to its people. Speaking at a press conference, he emphasised that the budget was crafted to serve all residents of J&K, regardless of their political affiliations or voting preferences. Abdullah stressed that it aims to benefit supporters of his National Conference (NC), Congress, BJP, other parties, and even those who did not vote, positioning it as a unifying financial plan for the region.

Opposition Slams Budget as Disappointing

Not everyone shares the CM’s optimism. Opposition leaders, including Sajad Lone of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPC), have criticised the budget sharply. Lone called it a “disappointment” and accused it of being “another love letter to the BJP,” arguing that it lacks concrete measures to address the struggles of ordinary citizens. This critique has fueled a polarized debate about the budget’s true impact.

Mixed Reactions Reflect Political Divide

The budget has sparked varied responses across J&K’s political landscape. While some see it as a populist gesture aimed at winning public favor, others contend it falls short of delivering meaningful change. As of March 08, 2025, discussions on platforms like X reveal a mix of support and skepticism, with hashtags such as #OmarAbdullah, #JammuKashmirBudget, and #JnK trending among users analyzing its implications.
