The Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha visited District Hospital Poonch to inquire about the health of civilians who were injured in a road accident in Sawjian, Poonch.
He asked everyone to observe a two-minute silence for the departed souls. The LG offered his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families of the dead and stated that death can never be compensated. However, as an administrative responsibility, for the people who died tragically, he announced that their kin will be given an ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh each. The injured will be given Rs 1 lakh each. The six civilians who were seriously injured have been airlifted to Jammu for treatment. The locals gathered at the hospital were in full support of the administration.
