A major component of the policy is the new Single Window portal, which simplifies the process for obtaining film shooting permissions and subsidies. This portal streamlines the application process, making it easier for filmmakers to handle administrative tasks and receive support. Additionally, the LG Shri Manoj Sinha launched the J&K Film Screening Series, which aims to foster a vibrant filmmaking culture in the region. This initiative will provide emerging filmmakers and film enthusiasts with opportunities to discuss film aesthetics, exchange ideas, and strengthen the local cine-club culture. The event also introduced the Frames of Transformation Photography competition, celebrating visual storytelling and creativity. During the conclave, winners of the Naya Jammu Kashmir Short Film Making Competition were honored, highlighting the creative talent within the region. The LG highlighted the historical connection between J&K and cinema, referencing renowned filmmakers who saw the region as more than just a shooting location but as a cultural source of inspiration. Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar commended the administration’s efforts to build a robust film ecosystem in J&K.
