The Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam said, the Drug De- Addiction Centre going on in Kulgam, Jammu & Kashmir, is a very important step from a rehabilitation perspective. More than 700 yoouths have been rehabilitated. The centre is not limited, to rehabilitation alone, their continuous counselling also takes place. And continuous follow-up also happens. The present facility can admit 15 youths at a time. With the help of the Government of India, the centre is running, the official said. We have doctors, counsellors and different facilities are provided to the patients. The Kulgam Drug De-Addiction Centre has sports facilities. Youth can play volleyball in the field outside, there is gym facility, a reading room and there are medical equipments which can take care of minor issues arising at the centre. Our intention is to run the centre well so that it becomes a model centre. This not only caters to the youth of Kulgam but also to youth from Anantnag, Srinagar and the Kashmir Valley, the offical stated.
