65 Kisan Khidmat Ghars strengthen agriculture in Kishtwar; applications invited for 7 new Krishi Udyami posts

Kishtwar, July 5,2026- In a significant step towards strengthening agricultural extension services in rural areas, the Agriculture Department, Kishtwar, under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), has established 65 Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) across the district to provide farmers with doorstep agricultural services.

Out of the 65 sanctioned KKGs, 56 are currently operational, offering a range of services including technical guidance, access to quality agricultural inputs, expert advisory support, and assistance with modern farming practices. These centres are catering to farmers across multiple panchayats, helping improve agricultural productivity and promoting sustainable farming.

To further expand the outreach of the initiative, the department has invited applications for seven Krishi Udyami (Agricultural Entrepreneur) positions in remote and underserved areas of the district. Eligible and interested youth have been asked to submit their applications within 15 days in accordance with the official notification.

Officials said the expansion of the KKG network aims to bridge the gap between farmers and agricultural experts by ensuring timely access to information, government schemes, improved farming techniques, and essential inputs at the village level.

The Kisan Khidmat Ghars have emerged as an important platform for enhancing farm productivity, increasing farmers’ income, and encouraging the adoption of sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices. The initiative is also creating self-employment opportunities for rural youth while contributing to the overall development of the agriculture sector in Kishtwar.

The Agriculture Department has encouraged eligible candidates to take advantage of the opportunity and become partners in promoting modern, farmer-centric agricultural services across the district.
