BARAMULLA, AUGUST 05: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa on Sunday attended the launch event for the establishment of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs), through a virtual inauguration by the Honourable Lieutenant Governor, UT of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha from SKUAST-K.
From Baramulla, launch event was also attended by the Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Baramulla, Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Baramulla, District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO) Baramulla, District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Baramulla, along with other officers and four Krishi Udhyamis.
During the launch event, a total of 550 KKGs were strategically set up across different districts of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, of which 53 KKGs would be set up in district Baramulla. These centers are designed to serve as one-stop agriculture shops, providing comprehensive services and resources to the farming community.
With the establishment of these centers, over one lakh farming families in the district Baramulla are expected to benefit from enhanced agricultural support and services.
In a display of appreciation and respect, the DDC was presented with a Bonsai juniper and a potted cactus by the Krishi Udhyamis (Agripreneurs) of District Baramulla who today became part of Argi fraternity during the launch event.
The launch event was also attended by all 53 KKG centers across District Baramulla, which were connected live during the proceedings. This integration highlights the commitment of the administration to ensure the seamless implementation of the initiative and to foster a collaborative environment for the agricultural sector.
Later, the DDC emphasized the critical role of the KKGs in transforming the agricultural sector and reiterated the administration’s dedication to supporting the farming community.
