Poonch,November 17,2025 : The Inter-Division UT Level Girls Hockey Tournament commenced today in Poonch, bringing together six teams from across the Union Territory to compete for top honours. The event was inaugurated by District Information Officer Palvi Verma, who encouraged the young players and lauded their talent and determination.
The tournament began with league matches, followed by knockout rounds, showcasing high levels of skill, teamwork, and competitive spirit among participants. In her address, Verma emphasised the importance of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork, and empowerment, particularly for girls, highlighting how such events contribute to holistic development and the promotion of women’s sports in J&K.
Organisers said the tournament aims to provide a platform for budding athletes to gain exposure, improve their skills, and prepare for state and national-level competitions, strengthening the sports ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir.
