Women tailoring entrepreneurship development program concludes successfully at SBI-RSETI Ramban

Ramban, December 5, 2024 – The Women Tailoring Entrepreneurship Development Program organised by the State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (SBI-RSETI) in Ramban concluded , marking the successful completion of an empowering initiative aimed at fostering self-reliance and entrepreneurship among women in the region. The program saw the enthusiastic participation of 33 trainees, who showcased remarkable commitment to acquiring new skills that will help them become self-sufficient entrepreneurs.

Throughout the course, the participants were trained in a comprehensive range of subjects, including Entrepreneurship Competencies, Effective Communication Skills, Marketing Management, Problem-Solving, Time Management, Banking and Government Schemes, and Behavioral Games. The training also focused on specialised tailoring skills such as Dress Designing, Saree Skills, Frill Theory, Nightwear (Nighties, Night Suits, Gowns), School Uniforms for Girls, Baby Frocks, Punjabi Suits, Chudidhars, Rajasthani Pushup Tops, Anarkali Tops, and Sewing Machine Repairs, both in theory and practical sessions.

Lead District Manager (LDM) Khursheed Ahmed Malik was the chief guest at the valedictory function, joined by Harvinder Singh, Director of SBI-RSETI. Malik highlighted the transformative power of skill development programs like this one, emphasising their potential to uplift women and foster economic empowerment in the region. “Empowering women through skill development is critical for economic progress. These initiatives are not just about learning a trade—they are about creating opportunities for women to thrive independently,” he stated.

Harvinder Singh, Director of SBI-RSETI, congratulated the participants on their dedication and hard work throughout the course. He assured them of continued support as they venture into entrepreneurship. “SBI-RSETI remains committed to providing a platform for women to realize their full potential, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their families, communities, and society at large,” he affirmed.

Amrik Singh Raju, Senior Faculty, concluded the event by expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the program, including the trainees and trainers. He also shared heartfelt appreciation for the spirit of learning and collaboration exhibited by the participants.

One of the trainees, Saim Bano, shared her experience, describing how the program not only taught her valuable tailoring skills but also helped her develop the business acumen necessary to pursue entrepreneurship. “I am deeply grateful to SBI-RSETI Ramban for providing us with this opportunity. The training has empowered me to take charge of my future, and I am now confident in my ability to start my own tailoring business,” she said.

This initiative by SBI-RSETI Ramban underscores the institution’s ongoing commitment to empowering women through practical, skill-based training, and its determination to promote entrepreneurship as a means of sustainable economic development in the region.
