Kashmir, November 22,2025-The higher reaches of Shopian district experienced a light spell of snowfall on Monday, bringing a fresh wave of winter charm to the region. Areas along the Pir Ki Gali stretch on the historic Mughal Road witnessed a brief but picturesque snow shower, drawing attention from travellers and locals.
According to officials from the Meteorological Department, the snowfall was light and lasted for a short duration, with no major disruption reported in vehicular movement. However, authorities have advised motorists to exercise caution along higher altitudes due to slippery road conditions.
The early-season snowfall has brought relief to residents and farmers who had been waiting for a drop in temperatures to support winter crop cycles. The scenic Mughal Road corridor, draped in a thin layer of white, also attracted photography enthusiasts and tourists travelling through the region.
Meteorologists say more light to moderate snowfall is expected in higher reaches of Kulgam, Anantnag, Kupwara, Bandipora and Ganderbal over the coming days as western disturbances continue to influence Jammu & Kashmir’s weather pattern.
