Srinagar, September 6, 2025: The Meteorological Department (MET Srinagar) has issued a fresh weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting spells of rain and thundershowers over the coming days.
According to Mr. Parveen, Meteorologist at MET Srinagar:
- September 5–7: Isolated rain/thunder is expected in parts of the Valley, while moderate showers are likely in the Jammu Division.
- September 8–9: Moderate rain is forecast from late September 8 till the morning of September 9 in several parts of the Jammu region.
- September 10–12: Rain and thundershowers may occur at a few places across J&K, bringing relief from prevailing dry conditions.
The department has advised residents and travelers to stay updated with daily Jammu and Kashmir weather bulletins, especially those planning journeys along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway and other hilly roads where rainfall may trigger landslides or slippery conditions.
Farmers in both Kashmir Valley and Jammu Division have also been urged to plan agricultural activities in line with the forecast to avoid crop damage from sudden rainfall.
Officials at MET Srinagar said the forecast indicates a shift towards more active weather patterns in September, marking the late monsoon phase in Jammu and Kashmir.
