“We Live By This Yatra: Kashmiris Share the Economic and Emotional Value of Amarnath” We sell handcrafted shawls to the pilgrims who arrive here for Amarnath darshan. We treat them well, said a shawl seller at Amarnath route. Most Kashmiris are poor. They earn from the yatra and this money runs their household. We wait for the whole year for Amarnath yatra to commence. That is why the Amarnath yatra is so important to Kashmiri Muslims. We have been serving you and will continue to do so. It is not about religion here, it is about humanity and brotherhood. You guys are not strangers. We are here with all our heart and soul to serve you. Some people get scared of coming to Kashmir even though there is no such thing. Lakhs of people come here for pilgrimage. Whosoever comes on the journey goes back happy. This is a big thing for us.
