Srinagar, October 14,2025:The Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, Pain and Palliative Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, organised a “Walk of Compassion for All Palliative Care” from Nishat to Duck Park today, aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of compassionate care for patients with life-limiting illnesses.
Doctors, medical students, health workers, and volunteers participated in large numbers, holding placards and raising slogans to promote the message of empathy, dignity, and holistic support for patients requiring palliative and end-of-life care.
The event emphasised the significance of palliative medicine in improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Faculty members of GMC Srinagar highlighted that palliative care is not only about managing pain but also about offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to those in need.
The walk was part of the global observance of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, reaffirming the department’s commitment to expanding access to palliative care services across Jammu and Kashmir.
