Budgam, November 10,2025: In a remarkable step toward inclusive democracy and women’s empowerment, the Pink Polling Station (58 Bemina B) in 27–AC Budgam has emerged as a vibrant symbol of female participation in the electoral process.
The polling station, staffed entirely by women officials, reflects the growing presence and leadership of women in Jammu and Kashmir’s democratic framework. From managing voter registration to overseeing the voting process, the women officers exemplified professionalism, confidence, and civic responsibility.
Officials said that the initiative aims to encourage greater participation of women voters and promote gender equality in the conduct of elections. The Pink Polling Station stands not only as a voting venue but also as a message of empowerment—reminding society of the vital role women play in strengthening democracy.
The initiative by the Election Commission and district administration received appreciation from voters, who hailed it as a progressive move toward gender-inclusive governance in Jammu and Kashmir.
