Bandipora, June 16, 2025 – Under the banner of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, the Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir organized a volleyball match for students of Government High School Wampura in Bandipora district, Jammu and Kashmir, on June 14, 2025. The event, aimed at fostering community engagement and promoting sports among youth in forward areas, concluded with the distribution of prizes to participants, highlighting the BSF’s commitment to nurturing teamwork and discipline in border regions.
Held at the school premises, the volleyball match saw enthusiastic participation from local students, with BSF personnel facilitating the event and encouraging healthy competition. The initiative aligns with the BSF’s broader efforts to build trust and strengthen ties with communities near the Line of Control (LoC). A BSF official stated, “Promoting sports in forward locations not only boosts physical fitness but also fosters unity and resilience among the youth, aligning with the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”
The event was well-received, with students and teachers expressing gratitude for the opportunity to engage in recreational activities. Prizes, including sports equipment and certificates, were awarded to the winning teams and standout players, further motivating participation. Posts on X celebrated the initiative, noting its role in uplifting community spirit in a sensitive region.
This sports outreach follows the BSF’s ongoing civic action programs in Jammu and Kashmir, including medical camps and cultural activities, as seen in recent efforts in Bhaderwah and along the LoC. By organizing such events, the BSF aims to inspire local youth to pursue sports while reinforcing its role as a partner in community development.
