VBSY cum Block Diwas event connects citizens & administration at Panchayat Jagatpur

KATHUA, JANUARY 10: District Administration Kathua today reached Panchayat Jagatpur in Block Keerian Gandyal to mark the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
The event witnessed the overwhelming participation of locals who were engaged by key officials, including Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Minhas, DDC member Dr. Shweta besides other PRIs.
The event also featured the Block Diwas Proceedings, providing a platform to the community to voice their concerns and needs, many of which were addressed on the spot.
The event, marked by enthusiasm and community engagement, showcased the commitment of local authorities to the principles of good governance and responsive administration. The departmental stalls were set up to facilitate direct interaction between the public and government officials, fostering a sense of transparency and efficiency.
The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Van (Viksit Bharat Rath), played a crucial role in disseminating valuable information and offering on-the-spot services to the attendees.
After giving patient hearing to the highlighted issues, DC Rakesh Minhas directed concerned officials to redress the same on priority. He also underscored the importance of such initiatives for empowering the citizens by bringing the administration to the doorsteps. He emphasized the need for active citizen participation in the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and commended the role of PRIs in raising the genuine issues & demands during the Block Diwas Proceedings.
Earlier, DDC Member Shweta, while addressing the gathering, urged the public to seize the opportunity presented by the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. She emphasized the significance of collective efforts in realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047. She encouraged citizens to actively engage with the various programs and services made available, fostering an environment conducive to progress and prosperity.
While highlighting the demands of the Jagatpur Panchayat she asked for coverage of more beneficiaries under the PMAY, and agriculture schemes. She also projected the problems faced by the locals including Drinking water scarcity in Kandi Belt besides issue of roadside water logging and demanded road connectivity to Matandi.
During the proceedings, directions were passed to the concerned regarding water scarcity. The DC directed the XEN PHE to make necessary arrangements and repair the defunct Hand pumps.
Regarding the road to Matandi the DC directed XEN PWD to look into the work and expedite the same.
Regarding the issue of achieving saturation of different schemes of the agriculture department, the DC directed the CAO Kathua to ensure proper hand holding to all eligibles of the area.
Later, the DC distributed Ayushman cards, KCC cards and Loan Sanction letters under PMEGP. The event also witnessed unfolding of success stories of different beneficiaries narrating life transforming tales under “Meri Kahani Meri Zubani ”segment of the VBSY.
The event served as a testament to the commitment of the local administration to foster inclusive and sustainable development. The immediate redressal of grievances, coupled with the establishment of departmental stalls and the IEC Van, underscored the administration’s dedication to facilitating direct communication channels and delivering prompt services to the community.
