Kashmir Ahead

Vande Bharat train to connect Srinagar and Jammu from march 1

Kashmir, February 25,2026-In a major boost to connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir, Indian Railways will launch a direct Vande Bharat Express service between Srinagar and Jammu starting 1 March 2026. This initiative aims to provide faster, safer, and more comfortable travel for passengers across the region.

The new Vande Bharat train will significantly reduce travel time compared to conventional trains, offering modern amenities such as onboard Wi-Fi, automatic doors, comfortable seating, and advanced safety systems. The service is expected to benefit daily commuters, tourists, and local travelers, enhancing both tourism and business connectivity in the union territory.

Railway officials highlighted that the Srinagar–Jammu Vande Bharat route is part of the government’s larger plan to expand high-speed rail services in the region, ensuring convenient and efficient travel even in challenging mountainous terrain.

Passengers can book tickets online through the IRCTC portal or at railway booking counters, with the train running on a regular schedule from March 1. Authorities also emphasized strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure a smooth and secure journey for all travelers.

This development marks a significant step in improving regional infrastructure and is expected to strengthen socio-economic integration between Jammu, Srinagar, and other key towns along the route.
