Union Minister Bhupender Yadav met J&K LG Manoj Sinha to discuss about initiatives focused on sustainable development in the region

New Delhi I March 12, 2025 – Union Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, met with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Delhi today to deliberate on strategies for the sustainable development of the union territory. The meeting, held amidst growing emphasis on eco-friendly growth in the region, focused on aligning Jammu and Kashmir’s development goals with environmental sustainability.

Sources indicate that the discussions covered initiatives to bolster renewable energy, promote eco-tourism, and enhance resource efficiency—key priorities for both the central and union territory administrations. Yadav, known for his advocacy of circular economy principles, reportedly emphasised the potential for green jobs and infrastructure projects to drive economic progress while preserving the region’s natural heritage.

LG Manoj Sinha, who has been steering Jammu and Kashmir toward energy security and sustainable practices, highlighted ongoing efforts such as solar panel installations on government buildings and the push for renewable energy projects.
