Jammu, September 2, 2025 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted a comprehensive review of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) during a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan here on Monday, reiterating the Central government’s unwavering zero-tolerance policy against terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chairing the session, Shah directed all security agencies to maintain high vigilance and operate in a coordinated manner to completely eradicate terrorism from the Union Territory (UT).The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP) of J&K, heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other senior officials. Discussions focused on the overall security scenario, including counter-terrorism operations, coordination among agencies, and preparedness to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.While assessing the security landscape, Shah praised the UT administration and security forces for their exemplary efforts in ensuring the peaceful and successful conduct of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025.

Their swift response has been instrumental in saving numerous lives and providing immediate aid to affected communities. Shah assured full support from CAPFs in managing natural calamities, underscoring their dual mandate in security and humanitarian efforts.The review comes against the backdrop of ongoing challenges, including recent infiltration attempts along the Line of Control (LoC) that were successfully foiled, and the need to dismantle remaining terror networks and overground workers (OGWs).
