Udhampur, March 17,2026- In a step aimed at encouraging farmers to explore new avenues of income, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa, inaugurated a district-level Floriculture Awareness Mela, highlighting the growing potential of high-value flower farming in the region.
Speaking at the event, the DC emphasised the importance of diversifying traditional agricultural practices. He noted that floriculture offers not only better returns but also sustainable livelihood opportunities, especially for small and marginal farmers. The mela served as a platform to introduce participants to modern agricultural techniques, improved planting methods, and the benefits of cultivating high-yield flower varieties.
