Samba, November 3,2025: Like the rest of the country, the festival of Tulsi Vivah was celebrated with great religious fervour and devotion across Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Dev Uthani Ekadashi.
Women devotees observed traditional fasts and adorned Tulsi Mata with solah shringar , symbolising the sacred wedding of Tulsi (Holy Basil) to Lord Vishnu in his Shaligram form. The rituals were accompanied by the singing of devotional bhajans, lighting of lamps, and offering of prayers for family well-being, unity, and prosperity.
Temples and households across Samba were beautifully decorated, with devotees participating in the ceremonial wedding procession , reflecting the deep cultural and spiritual traditions of the region. The event also marked the beginning of the Hindu wedding season, following the end of Chaturmas.
Community gatherings, distribution of prasad, and special kirtans added to the festive spirit, showcasing the enduring faith and unity among the people of Samba.
