Anantnag, March 12, 2026- The construction of transit accommodation for employees appointed under the Prime Minister’s Package for Kashmiri Migrants at Shangas in Anantnag district is progressing steadily and is nearing completion.
Assistant Engineer Bilal Ahmad Dar said that significant progress has been achieved in the project, with around 81 percent of the construction work on 20 residential blocks already completed. He shared the update while speaking to DD News correspondent Ishtiyaq Sofi.
According to officials, the transit accommodation project aims to provide safe and comfortable residential facilities to employees appointed under the Prime Minister’s Package. The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to support and facilitate employees working in different departments across the district.
Once completed, the accommodation complex will help address housing needs and ensure better living conditions for the employees posted in the region. Authorities stated that the remaining work is progressing at a steady pace and the project is expected to be completed soon.
