In a momentous stride toward agricultural advancement, LG Shri Manoj Sinha has spearheaded a transformative initiative aimed at revolutionising farming practices in Jammu and Kashmir. The launch of 500 Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) represents a cornerstone of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP), signaling a new era of support and innovation for the region’s farmers. Under his leadership , the Kisan Khidmat Ghars are being introduced as integral service hubs designed to address a spectrum of agricultural needs. These centers will offer farmers essential services, including input supply, soil health monitoring, plant diagnostics, and market intelligence. The establishment of these KKGs is a strategic move to bridge the gap between agricultural extension services and farmers, providing crucial support directly at their doorsteps. A hallmark of this initiative is its emphasis on modern technology. The KKGs will be equipped with advanced IT systems, ensuring the efficient delivery of services. Complementing this is the launch of the Kisan Khidmat Ghar mobile application, which empowers farmers with access to credit support, crop price forecasting, decision-making tools, and expert consultations. This integration of cutting-edge technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), aims to enhance productivity and streamline agricultural practices. LG Shri Manoj Sinha has articulated a clear vision for this initiative, focusing on empowering approximately 13 lakh farmer families, including nearly 3 lakh vulnerable and marginal farmers. The program is being rolled out in phases, with the first phase involving the establishment of 500 KKGs across the region. A subsequent phase will see the creation of an additional 1500 KKGs by the end of the year, demonstrating a long-term commitment to agricultural development and support. In his address, he emphasised the importance of these centers in transforming the agricultural landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the commitment of the UT Administration, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to improving the lives of farmers through these initiatives. The initiative also reflects a collaborative effort involving various stakeholders, including the HADP Apex Committee, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and other relevant departments.
