Tral residents get clean water after construction of the overhead water tank

Under the National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, the Jal Shakti department has established a water supply scheme in Dadasara village in Tral district of Jammu & Kashmir. The Jal Shakti Department is running a national programme, Jal Jeevan Mission. Basharat Rashid, a local resident says, a water tank is under construction. The estimated cost of this scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission is Rs 5 crore. This will remove the water shortage problems faced by the locals. The village residents used to face hardships in absence of clean water. Ashiq Hussain, a local resident said we had to face difficulties in fetching water from faraway places. The locals are happy with the administration for providing them a source of clean water. Suhaib Mehraj, AEE PHE Department Tral says, the main component of the project is Overhead Water Tank. Its capacity is of 70,000 gallon. It is 90 per cent completed. The other components like power house, etc which is allotted will also be taken up. A pump house, quarter and fencing around the tank will also be constructed. This scheme will cater to a population of 7,000.
