Kashmir Ahead

Tourists praise Kashmir’s cool weather, harmony and houseboat experience

Srinagar, May 25,2026- Tourists visiting Srinagar are expressing admiration for Kashmir’s pleasant weather, peaceful atmosphere, and warm hospitality as the Valley continues to attract visitors from across the country during the summer season.

A tourist from Gujarat, while sharing his experience in Kashmir, said the Valley provided much-needed relief from the intense heat being witnessed in several parts of India.

“Kashmir is much better than Gujarat at the moment. It is extremely hot there right now, with temperatures touching around 47 degrees Celsius. When we arrived here, it felt like we had entered the winter season,” the tourist said.

The visitor also appreciated the communal harmony and social environment in the Valley, saying the experience helped change perceptions about Kashmir.

“After coming here, we realised that the people here live together in harmony. The experience of staying in a houseboat here is also very good,” the tourist added.

Tourists have been flocking to Kashmir to enjoy its cool climate, scenic beauty, and iconic attractions, especially the famous Dal Lake, where houseboat stays and Shikara rides remain among the biggest attractions.

Local tourism stakeholders said the increasing tourist influx is boosting the tourism sector and generating livelihood opportunities for people associated with hospitality, transport, handicrafts, and other businesses.

Visitors from different states continue to praise the Valley for its natural beauty, hospitality, and peaceful environment, further strengthening Kashmir’s reputation as one of India’s top tourist destinations.
