J&K LG Shri Manoj Sinha dedicated the 3-year anniversary edition of the ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz’ programme to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging their valuable contributions and commitment towards the region’s development. The programme, which emphasizes the importance of public input in governance, has significantly influenced policy-making across diverse sectors, bolstering grassroots democracy and encouraging citizen participation in nation-building efforts. In his address, the J&K LG Shri Manoj Sinha congratulated the people of J&K for their remarkable participation in the recent Parliamentary election, which saw a record voter turnout. This, he noted, reflects the citizens’ strong faith in democracy and the constitution. He also paid tribute to the civilians martyred in the terror attack in Reasi, extending heartfelt condolences to their families. Assuring justice, he urged the public to remain united and support the police and security agencies in dismantling the terror ecosystem. He also highlighted the efforts of Ruhail Maqbool Sheikh, known as the Water Warrior of Pulwama, and Ritu Salathia from Jammu, a prominent figure in J&K’s gaming industry.He also called upon the enlightened citizens to unite in welcoming the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the annual pilgrimage to the holy shrine, commencing on June 29. He stressed the importance of community support in ensuring a successful and harmonious pilgrimage season.
