Srinagar, July 11, 2025 – In a major step to strengthen the security grid for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat led a high-level security review in South Kashmir. The meeting included DIG South Kashmir Range Javed Iqbal Mattoo, district SSPs, and senior officers from the Indian Army, CRPF, and BSF.
During the review, DGP Prabhat acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the security forces (SFs) in ensuring a secure and smooth pilgrimage. He stressed the importance of relentless coordination, real-time threat assessment, and the execution of dynamic countermeasures.
The DGP emphasized continuous rehearsal of contingency drills, identifying and plugging grey areas, and refining the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to deal with evolving threats. He also highlighted the importance of sustained anti-terror operations in the hinterland to maintain overall peace and security.
