Doda , 23 March, 2025- Security forces unearthed a terrorist hideout in a remote forest area of Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, marking a significant breakthrough in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts. The discovery, made during a joint operation by the Special Operations Group of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army, took place in the Bhalra forest area of Bhaderwah, following specific intelligence about suspicious activity.
The operation yielded a cache of weapons, including a pistol, three magazines, six rounds of pistol ammunition, and 25 rounds of AK assault rifle ammunition. While no terrorists were apprehended at the site, officials described the recovery as a critical step in disrupting potential attacks in the region. The hideout is believed to be part of a broader network, prompting intensified search operations in adjacent areas such as Gurinal, Thathri, and Chatroo forests in Kishtwar district, with support from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
A senior official stated, “This operation reflects our commitment to dismantling terrorist infrastructure and ensuring peace in Jammu and Kashmir.” The recovered arms suggest the hideout was a staging point for planned operations, though further investigations are underway to identify its operators. The development comes amid heightened security measures in the region, which has seen sporadic terrorist activity in recent months.
As of Sunday evening, the operation remained active, with forces combing the rugged terrain for additional leads. Authorities have urged residents to report any suspicious movements as efforts continue to neutralize threats in this strategically sensitive area.
