Teaching Children to Honour & Respect Parents in J&K. Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of India under the banner of Sewa Bharti, curated a programme Ehtiram-E-Walidein, a seminar on family relations to respect parents in Kunzer, Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir. During the programme, a student said in Qoran it is mentioned to pray to Allah and treat your parents well. But today, older parents are sent to old age homes, the student observed. We should respect our parents and as Allah has said, we should not even utter a sigh in front of our parents, one boy said. If parents are angry then Allah gets angry. Similarly, there is heaven under the feet of mother and father is the door to heaven. Similarly, you should serve your parents a lot. Nobody not even a friend works 24 hours a day for you. The only people who work 24 hours a day are your parents. We should all come together and work for improvement in our society so that no bad activities are present. The organisers said they conducted activities for children like washing the feet of their parents, combing their hair, clipping their nails, to show respect to them. We want to develop these feelings among the coming generation that our parents are important to us. If children visit the graves of their parents, Allah blesses them there too. My message is to listen to your parents. Nobody can take care of you better than your parents. Parents are your first and best teachers.
