Srinagar, January 21,2026-Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday led the Statehood Day celebrations of Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya at Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the rich cultural diversity and heritage of the northeastern states.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said that the vibrant traditions, cultural depth, and social values of Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya act as powerful engines for regional growth. He noted that cultural heritage plays a crucial role in fostering innovation, economic vitality, and social resilience while strengthening national unity.
LG Manoj Sinha emphasised that under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Northeast has witnessed historic development over the past decade.This transformation, he said, has not only accelerated economic growth but has also ensured peace, stability, and inclusive development across the region.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that the Union Government’s focused approach has helped safeguard and celebrate the unique cultural identities of the northeastern states. These efforts have significantly boosted tourism and the hospitality sector, attracting visitors from across the country and abroad while creating new livelihood opportunities for local communities.
The event at Lok Bhavan showcased India’s spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, reinforcing the importance of cultural exchange and mutual respect among states. The celebration served as a reminder that India’s strength lies in its diversity and shared commitment to progress and harmony.
