Srinagar witnesses emotional departure of first Hajj Pilgrims

Srinagar, April 19,2026- Emotional scenes unfolded at the Haj House in Bemina, Srinagar, as the first batch of Hajj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir began their sacred journey to Saudi Arabia. The atmosphere was filled with a mix of joy, devotion, and heartfelt farewells as families gathered to see off their loved ones embarking on the spiritual pilgrimage.

Dressed in traditional white ihram, symbolizing purity and equality, pilgrims were seen completing last-minute formalities, organizing their luggage, and offering prayers before departure. The premises of the Haj House echoed with religious chants and emotional goodbyes, with many family members struggling to hold back tears.

Officials at the Haj House ensured smooth processing of documents, medical checks, and travel arrangements, facilitating a hassle-free departure for the pilgrims. Security and administrative arrangements were put in place to manage the large gathering and ensure the safety of all attendees.

The annual Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, and for many, it is a once-in-a-lifetime journey. Pilgrims expressed gratitude and excitement as they prepared to visit the holy city of Mecca, seeking spiritual fulfillment and divine blessings.

Family members offered prayers for a safe journey and requested pilgrims to remember them in their prayers at the holy sites. The emotional send-off highlighted the deep religious significance of the pilgrimage and the strong cultural traditions associated with it in Kashmir.

More batches of pilgrims are expected to depart in the coming days as part of the Hajj 2026 arrangements. Authorities have urged all pilgrims to follow guidelines and maintain discipline throughout their journey.
