Srinagar , July 15,2026- Srinagar has emerged as the hub of India’s soft tennis preparations as the city hosts the national training camp for the Indian Soft Tennis team ahead of the upcoming Asian Games, bringing together some of the country’s finest players and coaches.

The camp has been organised to fine-tune the skills, fitness, and match readiness of athletes who are expected to represent India at the continental sporting event. Players from different states are undergoing intensive training sessions under the supervision of experienced coaches and technical experts.

Officials said the selection of Srinagar as the venue reflects Jammu and Kashmir’s growing stature as a destination for national sporting events. The region’s favourable weather conditions and improving sports infrastructure have made it an ideal location for high-performance training camps.

The training programme focuses on technical drills, tactical planning, physical conditioning, endurance, and match simulations to ensure athletes are fully prepared for international competition. Coaches are also evaluating players’ performances as part of the final preparations for the Asian Games.

The camp is being conducted with the support of the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, in coordination with the Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India, providing players with world-class facilities and a competitive training environment.

Sports officials noted that hosting such prestigious national camps not only boosts the development of soft tennis in the Union Territory but also inspires local athletes to pursue excellence in the sport. Young players from Jammu and Kashmir have also been given opportunities to interact with national-level athletes and coaches, gaining valuable exposure and experience.
