Specially-Abled Man in Pampore, J&K, Ventures into Saffron Business, Aims to Employ More Locals

At first I was employed as a driver in a government job in Pampore. Then I thought of starting my own business, said a specially abled man residing in Pampore district of Jammu & Kashmir. First I put up a tea stall, said the man with one disabled leg. Then after improvement I started a general provision store in Pampore which is functional till today. I have employed four people there. Then I have started another setup at Barsu village with three people. I would like to employ more. And I would like to expand my setup so that 50-60 people can work with me. I want to advance my career day by day. My product is 100% pure. The tourists will not be cheated, assured the man. Saffron’s identity is known from the town of Pampore. Saffron also gets imported from Iran. I have my own saffron fields. In October saffron harvesting takes place. The season’s last flowers are of saffron. We collect the saffron flowers, dry them, then after processing bring them to the shop, in its organic form.
