Srinagar, October 17,2025: Craft Bazaar organised at University of Kashmir saw massive interest as specially-abled artisans showcased their beautiful Sozni embroidery, which was a huge hit among visitors and dignitaries alike. The event, though organised by NIFT Srinagar, gave opportunity to specially-abled artisans to bring forth their talent, creativity, and expertise, as differently-abled artisans’ capability was brought out in front of a large crowd.
The careful Sozni art of the designers, a Kashmiri embroidery by beautiful needles and intricate patterns, captivated the audience and highlighted the need to conserve indigenous handicraft. The bazaar also promoted empowerment of artisans, diversity, and entrepreneurship in order to challenge young designers and artisans to innovate and yet honor the heritage of Kashmir.
The organizers said such events are meant to empower marginalised communities, promote skills acquisition, and put the spotlight on individualised handicrafts so that tradition and talent would not fade.
